Blue Bee wins Ladbrokes Golden Jacket final at Crayford
Crayford hosted many exciting events on Saturday but the finale of Ladbrokes Golden Jacket was highlight of the day. After a thrilling contest, M. Dartnall’s Blue Bee won the title following her gutsy performance.
The blue b***h attained a decent lead at the first bend and sustained her advantage during most part of the event.
The excitement went to its maximum level when Blackrose Monach stepped up and challenged Blue Bee’s dominance at the fifth bend.
However, the determined champion didn’t loosen her grip and sealed an emphatic win by ½ of a length, pocketing a purse worth of £15000.
With the odds of 7 to 2, Hondo Black’s daughter out of Blue Honey started off the show from the second trap.
Despite being troubled by E. Cantillon’s trainee, the rampant female hound held an upper hand right through the race, clocking the distance in 45.95 seconds.
Blackrose Monach, who was carrying the winning chances of 4/1, finished second whereas the 5/2 favourite Wise Signal ended up fifth on the chart.
The final of Peter Bussey Memorial Trophy saw Aero Joker upsetting the 2/1 favourite Ministry Millie.
It was a high profile competition but M. Wallis’s b***h kept her nerves calm to seal an easy win by 3 ½ lengths.
The white and black b***h covered the area in 33.71 seconds to grab a big cash prize of £2000. Falling well adrift of the triumphant, Ministry Millie finished second in the list.
Bubbly Swallow managed to steal the show in the Ladbrokes Golden Jacket Invitation Stakes. The black b***h performed magnificently to win a cash prize of £500.
After getting out from the second stall, N. Savva’s rampant b***h reached the post in 45.71 seconds.
Coolavanny Fairy put up a fine show to trouble the 6/4 favourite but her effort was not enough to match Bubbly Swallow furious speed.
The Chief Ramsbottom Hurdle was another high profile event on Saturday. After a dramatic clash, the 540 metre long event was won by Billis Renegade.
The fawn and white dog stepped out of the trap as the 5/4 favourite. He maintained his high standard of speed and stamina, covering the distance in just 34.58 seconds.
