Blue Blood set to grab an easy win in Dean Hough's Martini Classic at Belle Vue
There are plenty of good runners in the Hough's Martini Classic, but Blue Blood seems to have the best chance of winning at Belle Vue on Friday, August 3rd. The blue dog has been producing good results consistently over the past few weeks, and
one needs something extra special to stop him from bagging the top prize.
J. McCombe’s charge narrowly missed the gold medal twice last month. On his penultimate outing, he fell short only by half a length. He could not raise his game on last occasion, when missing the first position by 3½ lengths.
He is facing a bit weaker opposition this time and therefore, it is an ideal chance for him to unchain the shackles. Blue Blood just needs to deliver his best in order to win a race of this nature.
Among his rivals are: Rei Doms Best, Dacent Galvin, Lively Biloxi, He Is Loaded and Downsizing. The 470 metres flat race is scheduled to begin at 20:40 GMT. A cash prize of £76 is reserved for the ultimate champion.
Rei Doms Best is another leading candidate. The blue hound broke the shackles at the end of last month, when winning an A3 event by one and a quarter lengths. He will be under some pressure though, as he is stepping up in the class.
Downsizing ran well in a few trial races lately. The black dog looks to be in good shape, but this is far from easy. Crash’s son needs to do something special in order to win at this level.
Dacent Galvin has tasted success at this level. He was a bit unlucky on his second last trip, when finishing second to Damerstown Brave by half a length. However, he could not maintain the standards, and fell fifth last time out.
Lively Biloxi is blessed with track knowledge, and it counts for something. He Is Loaded can only improve upon past strike rate. It is hard to expect him a winning performance from him.
It will be a three way battle among Blue Blood, Rei Doms Best and Dacent Galvin. Blue Blood is more experienced at this level, and gets our nod. Good luck to all the runners.
