Are Male British Shorthair cats better than the female one?

"I know the male ones are bigger than the female, but I'm a little curious about their behavior?"

And please share some negative and positive comments about this cat.

  1. Males are more affectionate than females and when they're neutered they get a lot lazier too lol.

    As for the cold an snow, they are not cold etc. resistent, after all, they are british SHORThairs. What I would reccomend is going to a pet shop and buying a jersey/sweater for your cat (most pet shops have special clothes for cats, dogs etc.)

I got a female who is now 4 months old.  If you are looking for a lap cat or one that is affectionate, I would say ask owners of males what they're like or else don't get a Brit.  My kitten is sweet, but DOES NOT LIKE being picked up or held at all.  She barely tolerates being petted.  She has to come to me and even then it's for a limited time only.  I love her, but I don't know that I would have chosen this breed now that I know this is normal for brits.  I hear the Chartreux are wonderfully affectionate and are also the blue color.
