Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance WON"T pay!!?

My son has Blue Cross/ Blue Shield Health Insurance through actually his stepmom. It was Court ordered that his father hold insurance on him until he was 19.

My son also has insurance through my soon to be X-Husband which is Priority Health.

I have had to fax the court order that my son's father hold insurance on him to BOTH companies.

Blue Cross is REFUSING to pay any of these bills just in the last 2 years because they say Priority Health should be the primary.

He has had both insurances for about 4 years and just in the last 2 years they REFUSE to pay!

I have probably $1000 in medical bills which some of them have gone into the credit bureau and just got a letter of termination at the Dr's office because of the bills.

I don't feel I should pay these bills since one of the insurance companies should have to pay them!

I have called both insurance companies NUMEROUS times, Faxed Information to BOTH places and even had a person from Priority Health call Blue Cross themselves and STILL nothing is resolved. Blue Cross is NOT paying!

They say it is going by a birthdate thing from the parties....BUT, My son's father has COURT order that he is to keep insurance on him!

It is getting to be a HEADACHE!!

Anybody have any other advice on how to clear this matter up!

I don't have $1000 to pay and even try and get reimbursed!

This is RIDUCULOUS!

Please Help!! I am at the end of the Rope with this!

  1. i believe you have 12 months to refile a claim, so anything beyond that, i don't know what to say. for the others, i would take BOTH insurance cards to the dr. office where he was seen, and let them know that the other one is the primary, and ask them if they would be willing to refile the claims as bcbs being the 2ndary insurance. then, it's just wait and see...you could also call bcbs and spend many precious hours of your life for them to throw out big words at you and confuse you even more. :P just kidding, but definitely take both cards in and see if they will file again. :) hope that helps.
