Blue Cross and Birth Control (Implanon)

I'm 19, and my mom has Blue Cross health insurance, I suppose I'm still covered since I live with her still. But I don't have any insurance to my name.

I'm going to the "free" clinic, And was wondering if having this Blue Cross deal will unqualify me for the state paying for it, and/or would Blue Cross pay for it.

I've checked the site, and am going to ask if my mom knows if it would. But am wondering if any of you know.

  1. if ou are going to planned parenthood they will give you the option of implanon but i am not to sure of how it would cover. Most likely since it is themost cost effective the clinic will cover most if not all.

If the clinic does not cover it all, blue shield does cover implanon from my own resource of plans and coverage. Always nice to have a backup plan clinics do give out depo provera(the shot) and hormona patches(the patch) both are much lower maintance than the pills, especially if you have to be on progesterone only opposed to the normal estrogen pills.
