Blue Fencers enjoy another gold medal victory in Foil Team's event at St. Petersburg Grand Prix
After the victory in both male and female Individual events, the Italian team enjoyed another gold medal victory in team's event of St. Petersburg Grand Prix that took place on May 7, in Russia. If Italy wins the gold medal in Men’s Team event also, a new
world record will be set in the history of fencing.
During the long weekend of Foil Grand Prix Competition, Blue fencers have seen dominating the colour with excellent victories. It was named the first victory in the individual Men's foil to Andrea Baldini and Andrea Cassara, then Italy smashed with the Italian
hat-trick in the women's Foil by Vezzali, Errigo and Di Francisca, and finally, today with the 'dream team' gold medal victory.
In St. Petersburg, the Blue Team, including Arianna Errigo, Valentina Vezzali, Ilaria Salvatori and Elisa Di Francisca became the enemy in the competition. They started their day with a victory over Hong Kong with a score of 15-12. With this win over Hong
Kong, Vezzali and companions qualified for the quarter-final and prevailed 45-31 to Hungary. The semi-final victory was taken by defeating Poland by a score of 45-29. In the final four Blue surpassed Korea to 45-36 to get the third gold medal.
The head coach of Italian Women’s Foil Team, Stefano Cerioni, said on the victory, "It's the proof that we are the strongest team. The victory of both the Olympic qualifying (April’ ed) puts us in a state of calm for the coming races, but also gives us an
awareness of our value. "
Cerioni also said "Those were wonderful days, fortunately, most recently repeated. When I speak of a group's success, I mean not only athletes but also all those who work to allow children to better express their full value. Thanks to the trainers and then

Now the blue team is waiting for the final round of World Cup Men's foil in Havana and they are much confident about their victory in Men’s Foil.
