The Jays are heading to Tampa for a 3 game series then to Yankee Stadium for another 3. They're 8 games behind the WC leading Red Sox.

CAN THEY STILL MAKE IT?!

Their pitchin is great and their batting is better... I'm hoping they can.

  1. umm let me think....

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  2. To Pass the Yankees Maybe, to get in the Playoffs to Catch Tampa Bay and Boston NO, I clearly say that fact, Toronto can't play October Baseball.

  3. Are you kidding me. No

  4. mathematically they have something like a 1% chance of getting the wild card spot... but realistically they aren't going anywhere.... Boston is going to hold onto the wild card spot, the rays are going to win the east, the angels are going to win the west and then it's a toss up between the twins and the sox in the central

  5. Nope. They have no chance. Sorry dude.

  6. All you have to do is look at the math and you will see that the Blue Jays have no chance.  The Rays are 79-50 right now and have 33 games to play.  Let's just say the Rays win 17 and lose 16 of their final games and finish the season at 96-66.  The Blue Jays are 67-63 right now and for them to finish ahead of the Rays, using this scenario, they would have to finish the season going 30-2 to win by one game.  Even if the Rays don't win 17 games they are still way out of reach for the Blue Jays.  There is always next year.

  7. Im sorry but they can't make it. I'm a huge Jays fan but right now it doesn't look good for the Blue Birds. With Rios struggling at the beginning of the year and there offense struggling as well it just doesn't look good.

  8. Don't count on it. The Jays haven't played very well on the road this year, and Tampa Bay has the best home record in the MLB.

  9. I'm a big Jays fan, and really it's sad but they aren't going to make it. BUT what would make me happy is for them to pass the Yankees and finish ahead of them, I think they can do that. And to the person who was rambling on about how they won't catch the Rays...I think Jays fans could care less about winning the division, we just want to make the playoffs, and wild card is alot easier then catching the Rays. They will make it interesting in the end since they are playing better baseball, but they still aren't going to make it.

  10. nah there too far out

  11. Highly unlikely.

Their hitting is better but it's still not good enough and the hole they've dug themselves is too deep.

  12. Nothing is impossible, especially in this day and age where there might be a MLB playoff's without the Yanks & Red Sox, and where the Rays are great. They're fortunate to have Doc and Burnett pitching well. They'll make it interesting no doubt.

  13. Hypothetically, yes.

    Realistically, no chance.
