Blue Screens - Dell Laptop

Hi. I bought a brand new laptop from Dell in April. Since I got it, I have been having problems with it. I get blue screens form time to time that says "crash dump....dumping files." I tried everything with Dell, including a system restore, to no avail. Of course, they will not give me a refund or replacement. They said about a month ago that I now need to delete my operating system and reinstall it. I didn't do it because I have so many programs that I need for work installed on my computer and I just don't have the time to reinstall all of my programs..it took me so long to set it up. Is there any other way to fix this blue screen problem without wiping out my system? Here are the details (I just got a blue screen a few minutes ago). The blue screens happen once or twice per week.

  1. Which O.S. is it running? I had 3 different DELLs that all did exactly what you described, will never own a DELL again.

  2. Could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software. This  problem can be solved by uninstalling new softwares, updating device drivers and making minor configuration changes . From http://fixit.in/bluescreenofdeath.html . You can also run a free registry scan using utilities from http://re7.info
