Blue birds?

How do you attract blue birds to your backyard?

welll....................put up birdhouses and do wahtever attracts bluebirds, i guess. happy july 4th.

Have a big, meadowy backyard, with only a handful of neighbors within 10 square miles.

(bluebirds need a lot of open grassy meadow space, and not many people or building around, to be happy.  You dont' often see them in the city)

Habitat is the key. The meadowy back yard is also a plus but you need coverage (shrubby areas) and a couple of bluebird houses. I forget the details but the house must be a certain size and face a certain way at a certain height. Bet you can google 'bluebirds' or 'Audubon Society Bluebirds' and they will give you all the details.

Bluebirds in our state have become common enough that they are found in the suburbs near cities.

Put up bird houses by large open fields or gardens but not very close to gather. bluebirds are very territorial and will not tolerate neighbours. If you live in the city it,s next to impossible but good luck anyway.
