  1. i have never heard of a blue ribbon in a horse tail nor seen it b4???

a red ribbon: means for a rider/person to be cautions of the horse as it can been dangerous eg:kick, bite

a green ribbon: means a green horse and to be again cautions and aware as it is less educated/ not ness dangerous though

both of these can be warn by anyone regardless of age, gender or breed

i will be keeping my eye on this q as i would be very interested if anyone else has heard of this!

    hope this helped!

  2. Ive not heard of this.  It is customary here to tie a red ribbon into the tail of a kicker regardless of gender,.

  3. ...a blue ribbon doesn't go on the stallions tail...or on a gelding or mare either...

...you should put the ribbon on his bridle up behind the ear & flowing down or if the horse doesnt like it there put it on the saddle behind the cantel or wherever it can be secured...

...if he gets more than one ribbon, place them on the front of his stall or where you keep him during a show...

  4. I think you mean that you're supposed to put just a strip of ribbon in his tail to show that he's a stallion (even though he isn't?) I'd talk to the people at a show and see what they'd prefer. If they don't allow stallions they probably don't want you to do that, but I'd just check with them.
