no. Only on blu-ray players or the Playstation 3

Much like how it's impossible to play an xbox game on a ps3 you can't play a Blu-Ray disc on a regular dvd player, even if it says it will upconvert to high def, that just means that it will upscale the image of a regular dvd. The dvd player's hardware is not made to read the information on Blu-Ray discs. But playing a standard dvd on a Blu-Ray player will work fine though.
