Blues hope to get back to their winning ways in next match against Highlanders - Super Rugby News
The Blues are hopeful of get back on track against the Highlanders on June 17. The Blues have not won any match in their previous four outgoings and are fearful of seeing their lowest ebb in Super Rugby history by loosing the fifth in a row. They are coming
from a stunning defeat at the hands of the Crusaders last weekend at Timaru. Blues lock, Anthony Boric, talked to the media today, June 13, and said that they will leave no stone unturned to win the upcoming match.
Earlier in the season the Blues were leading the other New Zealander derbies on the point tables but the Crusaders snatched the top spot last weekend. The Blues are now required to win their last round match against the Highlanders to stay in the play-off
stages. They are currently placed fourth on the tables with 56 points.
Blues coach Pat Lam also backed up his player Boric and said that his side is determined to get good results in the upcoming match. He further said that there were a few injuries on his side that restricted them from sending their best team onto the field.
He further stated that, “We're really pleased that we've got our mojo back, our excitement back, and just looking for accuracy now. If we win this game we've got a home game, that's one thing we have in our control There's 15 teams trying to win this competition
and at the end of next week nine are gone.”
Blues lock Anthony Boric claimed that his team is committed to win their last match to finish in the top six outfits. He further said that his squad had got a winning record in the start of the tournament. He added that, “We won't let that happen. We're
perhaps playing with a bit of fear, thinking about winning when early on in the competition we just played our natural game.”
The Blues will take on the Highlanders on June 17 which is expected to be a thriller for the playoff competitions.
