  1. I don't agree with the person who knows and understands the rules. Those rules would apply if it was deemed to be a deliberate throw away of the ball and I certainly think that that was debatable therefore I don't think the umpire should have awarded the free kick. For a deliberate, intentional act then it would have been OK although I do believe that the reward far outweighs the penalty so the AFL should look at that rule, but today I think that it was unfairly and unjustly applied. By the way I'm a Crows supporter so I'm glad that we didn't win the game just on that.

  2. In the context of the game it did not really make a difference.

    However looking at Law 15.6

A free kick was correctly awarded.

The same law says that a free kick shall be awarded where:

""having taken the football over the Boundary Line, fails to

immediately hand the football to the boundary Umpire or drop the football directly to the ground""

Law 18.1 - 50 meter penalty for time wasting.

In addition, under Law 19.2.2 Time wasting is also a reportable offence.

The umpire was not at fault. If we don't like the law then the AFL must do something about it.

  3. It was stupid, Everything so far this weekend I'm not impressed.

  4. It shouldn't have been a free kick

  5. it was stupid, its not like he belted it into the crowed, I'm glad it didn't decide the match
