I'm looking for something I'm sure exists, I just cant find it... I need a bluetooth receiver of some kind that I can hook up to my home theater system that will allow me to play music on that home theater system from my MacBook WIRELESSLY. I am turning my basement into a recreation room and I will have a stereo down there - I want to be able to sit anywhere in the room with my MacBook (built in bluetooth) and play music from iTunes on the stereo (or any other kind of audio). Im sure a "converter" like this exists somewhere.... I'm thinking it'll be a small box with red/white RCA outs and a small AC power input plug. I have found hundreds of bluetooth TRANSMITTERS but thats the opposite of what I need. Any home theater geniuses please help! Thanx.

  1. Bluetooth is known for being notoriously bad for transmitting great sounding audio.  Since you have a macbook, it might be worth your time to check out Apple's Airport Express.  It's a $79 box with an ethernet jack, and audio out hookup, and a usb port.  It shows up as a wireless network.  If you have an existing wireless network, it can act as an extender.  When you're connected, in iTunes you'll see a set of "remote speakers".  The airport express acts as a wireless bridge between itunes and your audio equipment.
