  1. Ive been watching it. It's great and quite competitive. I hope it stays. I have never seen a track like that though. Its an excellent layout!

  2. This is the first year it has been an Olympic event.

  3. It's just another of many sports the US wanted to up their medal count.  Dumbest thing but what can you do.  Money talks.

  4. This is the first year it's been an olympic sport. I saw it today too and was very surprised, I really don't think it's suitable for the olympics, we already have cycling so why do we need this?

  5. This is the first year.  In January of this year Chula Vista, California Olympic Training Center opened it's replica of the Beijing BMX racing track.  NBC television news reported that the US even invited other countries to come to the US to practice on the BMX track that was just like the one they would be competing on.  It is one of 3 such venues worldwide.

  6. This year...I don't like it though. it's not up to the time-tested caliber of the other olympic sports. It's so X-games-esque.

  7. I don't think BMX is suitable for Olympic. I know that a lot of X-games lover are very happy that BMX is in but I think this event should not be in the Olympic. They should stay in X-games.

  8. BMX racing is not an olympic sport. the may as well include motor racing, go karts and skate bourding!

Mountan bike racing is fine though.
