Bmx bike question?

Hi, I have gotten this bmx bike a lil while back. It is a 1982 Skyline Bmx. I don't know much about bikes, just getting into the sport. I have a problem with the bike: When I pedal I hear this sqeaky noise, when I coast I don't hear it at all, so it only happens when I pedal. Just wondering if anyone may know what the problem is? and how I can fix it maybe?

you might just need to oil the chain. it could also be a hub problem but i doubt it because u said u just go inti the sport so i figure the bike has not been used much. it could also be the sprocket. just try oiling all moving part around the area. that should do it.
