Bmx or Longboard?

Question

I have recently got a job

so now I can buy stuff

like 500$ stuff

and ive been thinking about getting a longboard

a cruiser longboard for about 2 years

But ive also been looking at bmx's

and they are pretty cool to

The good thing about longboards:

Fast

Quiet

Portable

Good thing about bmx's:

You can do tricks

Go more places than longboards (over rough-ish terrain)

but im thinking: If I get a bmx, and then I get bored with it and cant do tricks or anything then whats the point

and if I get a longboard, I dont have to worry about tricks

since all they do is move

So I'm just wanting some opinions from other people that can point out things im overlooking.

longboards are cool like a sector 9 im not one for bmx bikes.... more custom beach cruisers..... its all up to you.. which ever you think is cooler.. i own a cool bicycle.. vintage custom beach cruiser and thoroughly enjoy working on it upgrading parts etc.. same would go for a bmx..

Longboards are great for riding around town and going down hills but can be a pain to carry around.

Bikes are great for riding through parks, etc but have to be locked up.
