Bo Van Pelt finishes the Masters on the 17th position, a family gift of hole-in-one
Bo Van Pelt played well in the final round of the Masters Tournament, finished tied for the 17th position at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.
The 36-year-old American professional golf player scored a 1-under 287 and competed well for the title. He also amazed the spectators by displaying an outstanding hole-in-one, on the par-3 16th hole of the final round.
Crew Van Pelt, 5-year-old son of Bo, asked a question just before the tournament, “whether he ever had a hole-in-one?”
“I said, ‘Yeah.’ He said, ‘Well, you haven’t made one in quite a while,’” Van Pelt shared this on Sunday.
Van Pelt successfully answered his son’s question and this will also be a gift for his family. He shot 8-under 64 and played a bogey-free round tremendously.
He made four birdies and two impressive eagles in the final round of the tournament. His swing, drives, putting and strokes on greens were amazing.
His final-day performance was tremendous and his massive score helped him finish in an impressive style. However, his poor game in the initial three rounds was the reason for the 17th position on the leaderboard.
Van Pelt started the tournament on Thursday and scored a 1-over 73. He made three birdies and four bogeys in the first round of the tournament.
He then added +3 to the leaderboard scores in the second round. He was unable to score well at Augusta on Friday and dropped due to the three bogeys and one double-bogey.
A similar case happened in the third round, as he faced many difficulties while scoring under par. He only carded two birdies and bogeyed five times.
Performing poor in three rounds took him down but he finished among the top-25. He believes that “It’s just golf. There’s no guarantee,” he said. “We’d all like to pick and choose when we have a good round. But we don’t get to do that”.
It is a fact that Van Pelt has lost the game, but he has won his son’s heart, by hitting a hole-in-one in the final round.
He also needs to practise, and if he does so, he can impress the spectators in the upcoming tournaments and majors.
