Board of Control for Cricket in India nominates Zaheer Khan for Arjuna Award – Cricket news
The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Tuesday nominated the spearhead pace bowler Zaheer Khan for the coveted Arjuna Award in recognition of his contribution to Indian cricket.
The 32-year-old fast bowler from Maharashtra has been in sublime form for the Men in Blue over the past one year. Khan’s successful 2010 season was well emphasised by his startling performance in the recently concluded ICC World Cup 2011 where he finished
as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker along with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482. He claimed 21 scalps from nine World Cup games at an average of 18.76 and an economy rate of 4.83 runs per over.
Since debuting in October 2000, Khan has played 191 One Day Internationals, 78 Test matches and 12 Twenty20 Internationals picking up 273, 271 and 13 wickets respectively in the three formats of cricket.
