Boarding School Story/RP?

Question

I'm making a story/RP that takes place at a boarding school for people with special powers or abilities. What settings and places should I include? I'm at a loss...

I think a desolate area in New England would be great. Maybe in a small town in New Hampshire or something like that. Maybe in the woods too.  A large wooded campus would allow them to practice in privacy plus make it seem cool and fitting.

Or in the mountains? In a pretty valley?

To the 2nd person: my bad, I had no idea honestly! I've never watched X-Men or know anything about them. That's just what I picture when I think boarding school.

In most stories like this, it's usually in some small town surrounded by lots of woods and the school is on the edge of town, hidden within the dense forest.

And in response to what the previous answerer said, that's basically where the school from X-Men takes places: in a desolate part of New England. So if you're looking for originality, I'd advise against basing it in New England.
