Boarding school questions?

I was looking at boarding schools and i found some that looked good I found, George school, The hill school, and Wyoming Seminary Upper School. I was wondering if anyone has gone to any of those and could give me some insight. Also I was wondering if a middle class family like mine could get financial aid and how much for those schools I listed. Also I am involved in and extremely committed to 1/4 midget racing. We race every Sat. April-october, since these schools are close to my home would my parents be able to take me out of school on saturdays to race. Also if I am a 4.0 GPA straight A student who is involved with many sports (field hockey and track) and extra curricula's (TV studio, orchestra, national junior honors society ect.) would there be a good possibility that I could receive a scholarship, and for how much.

  1. You have a great educational and extra-curricular background, and this will basically guarantee at least some financial aid, but it will depend on the school how much you will receive. I see that all of your choices are in Pennsylvania (your home state I'm guessing), and there's nothing wrong with that at all, but the point of boarding school is to gain independence and experiences on your own. Being so close to home will detract from this I'm afraid. You should never let a hobby, even an "extreme commitment", hold you back in any way, and being so close to home will keep you from gaining the full advantages of boarding school. If there's no chance of you going out of state then I would consider a day school in the area over boarding school. Because I think you'd really be missing out living so close to home, but then again it really matters solely on what you want to do. And yes, you're family will be able to take you on weekend every weekend for quarter midget racing to answer your question. Here are the schools you are interested in and information on the financial aid they offer:

The Hill School, the most prestigious school on your list, a member of the Ten Schools Admissions Organization. Tuition: $39,400. Financial Aid Info: http://www.thehill.org/home/content.asp?...

George School. I know that this school is Quaker and that's basically it. Tuition: $39, 600. Financial Aid Info: http://www.georgeschool.org/Admission/Fi...

Wyoming Seminary. Tuition: $38,000. Financial Aid Info: http://www.wyomingseminary.org/admission...

    Best of luck.
