Boastful in form to upset Sentaril in the Tyregiant.Com Summer Stakes
The 5 to 4 favourite of the Group 3 Tyregiant.Com Summer Stakes, Sentaril, will not make it through the wire unchallenged, or maybe it is the four-year-old, Boastful, who will over haul her chances of claiming the race.
The Group 3 event has attracted a line-up of twelve three-year-old and, above runners who will race through six furlongs on Friday, 13th July at York in order to take home the £32,560 prize money.
Boastful, Clodovil’s four-year-old grey filly has not really been remarkable through the three seasonal outings, but has all the chances of swinging back into the form with which he entered into the 2012 season.
Foaled by mare, Vanity, in 2008, the filly conquered her seasonal debut on 5th May, 2012 in the Mobile Casino British Stallion Studs EBF Conquer Stakes (Listed Race) (Fillies & Mares) at Goodwood race course over a mile.
Even though the tempo of the Mrs. Louise Quinn owned was not ideal after breaking from the first stall, he did not wait for long to compose himself. He turned the leading duo to a leading trio by the time the three furlongs remained to be battled over.
Storming past the former leading pair, Boastful took command and won by the margin of 1 ½ lengths with jockey, Neil Callan, onboard. Winter’s Night qualified as the runner-up and was soon followed by, Raasekha.
After kick starting the season so impressively, the Irish grey filly shocked the connections out of their wits by being the last in the field of eight in the Group 3 Princess Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored By Investec) (Fillies And Mares) on 1st June, 2012 at the Epsom race course over a mile and half a furlong.
The race was won by the Sir Mark Prescott Bt trained, Clinical.
The most recent attempt of the four-year-old saw tremendous improvement as he finished right after the winner in the Group 3 Betfred Mobile Lotto Chipchase Stakes on 30th June, 2012 at Newcastle over six furlongs.
Today will be a straight third time that Mrs. K. Burke trained will undertake a Group 3 race, and if he does not let go off the firm hold on the improvement bar then there would be hardly anything to keep him away from the victory tonight.
