  1. Really depends on what kind of top end or low end you want. I would suggest a 4 blade prop guessing that the motor is around a 115HP degree needs to be a little more as well

    good luck

  2. You don't give much info. So trailor it to your local boat shop and ask'em what they think will work best. Ask if you can take 2 or 3 used / rebuilt props & return what you don't want. Good Luck

  3. Need more information.  What horsepower is the motor.  Also if you buy a prop from a dealer and refer to the size as degree he will probably laugh.  They are measured as pitch.

I do not drive a pontoon boat, but I know on high performance bass boats, that go between 80 & 100 MPH a 4 blade prop is training wheels for people who do not know how to drive a boat.

Also with a 4 blade prop you lose top end speed.

But like I said, a major piece of information is missing to tell you what size prop you need.

  4. the only way to properly prop a boat is use an accurate tachometer and prop to the manufactures specs  if you dont have a tach there are many hand held ones available to test the boat  ps you will have to take the boat out and check it charts and guesses are guide lines only   the reason you guzzled gas is because the engine was not operating at the correct rpm for the load

  5. Most places that sell props will have a book from the engine manufacturer that will help with your decision.  It will ask questions about the boat type and size, engine type and size, and what performance level you are looking for.  Any good boat store or dealer can help with this.  It will cost you a lot of time and money to guess.

  6. Go here. http://www.overtons.com/props/propeller_...   . Read the page.( It's not very long or complicated.) Then click on the  'prop selector guide' near the bottom of the page. I'm pretty sure a 4 blade would be best for a pontoon.
