Boat gas tank is 2/3 full with 5 month old fuel. What to do?

I still need to store my boat another 2 or 3 months. What is the best coarse of action?

spring is comming it will still be good but  i drain mine out and use it in my truck,gas is to expensive these days

yeah thats not a real long time,, shoukd be alright to leave it in the tank ,,   or fill it to the top to stop condensation in the tank,,,,, a full tank is much safer than an emty tank,,,,,

  if its years the feul may go off      depending on the oil if its 2 stroke

you should drain the fuel out if you're not going to be using the boat for a while, but i see you forgot, so drain it out now and use the old fuel for something else, like a bonfire

You can drain it and use it in your lawnmower or you can add a pint can of fuel conditioner and use it anyway.

If its 5 months old I wouldn't use it in the boat.

I don't know what engine type you have but gas can get gummed after that long, UNLESS you have already put something like Sta-Bil in it.

Even when you put Sta-Bil in it, you need to let it run a little while so it will go into the fuel lines and carbs or injectors.

Your best bet is to cut your losses and drain the tank out. No additives will bring old fuel back to new condition. The additive is a preventive maintenance thing so to speak. The stuff works great before hand.

When fuel sits it loses its octane rating which in turn lowers the temp that it will ignite. Lower ignition temps will cause detenation. It is too big a risk to try it with older fuel. You may get away with it and everything will be fine but I just wouldnt take the chance. Good luck on whatever you decide.

5 month old gas will run fine in your boat, even with 2 cycle oil mixed in. I wouldn't worry about adding StaBil or anything like that, if you're worried about it add some carb and injector cleaner and run it through.

5 months is not old at all. I had 2 year oold gas in a 40 searay i put a few bottles of octane booster and it worked like a charm.

buy some octane booster and pour it into the tank

i can guarantee you it will be good in the 3 months you still have to wait
