  1. I'm not sure there's a specific guideline on that kind of thing but I would think your okay at 10 for sure on a 36. You do however need to make sure there is 1 life jacket for every person on board.

  2. the USCG formula  is L x W divided by 15

Round down. Keep in mind this is the legal max, nothing saying you have to carry so much.

  3. you are asking random people who have never seen a boat that you haven't described.

what are you planning to do, pick the answer that you like best?

call the person who owns the boat and ask them, what is the capacity.

then you will have a real answer, not a bunch of random guesses.

Every boating "accident" you'll ever hear about on the news starts just like this...people who don't know what they're doing, not bothering to do a little research to find out.

  4. First of all, if it's 32 feet long  that is not a small boat.... it's a motoryacht. IN that case, it holds many folk... should be a tag on the boat near the pilothouse that will tell you how many people and the total weight of people and cargo.   YOU need a LOT more info than what you give on here... good luck

  5. It depends on several factors.

No more than life jackets on board

    Condition of boat

    Beam (comfort factor)

Displacement (heavy boats are more stable)

Water conditions ie: pond = 10 people, rough seas = 4-6 people
