Boat rental for an interstate trip???

Question

I was hoping that I could rent a boat for a round trip from Sarasota, FL to New Orleans, LA. How would I go about doing this? Would I need a license to drive the boat? All I would need is a cheap small boat for one passenger.

Given the distance and weather conditions over he next several months, I think you need to reconsider.  For practical reasons, I think your limited to a sail boat, And something about 28 ft.  You would have to stay "in shore" for safety and it would take a couple weeks to reach The Big O.  There are "bare boat" charter company's in your area, but they would require that you be an experienced sailor.  Good Luck but reconsider!!!!!!!
