Boat trailer hand crank, how do you swich between the two different modes of locking and unlocking?

For the two speed ratcheting winch. IF the winch will lock in both the pulling and letting out of the cable or strape. How do you switch between these? Is there a switch or spring?

I think you saying it a two speed/gear winch. Just look around how it made. Some you may have to move the handle to the other gear. Some have a small flip switch that selects the gear. All I can tell you without seeing.

Yes, there should be a spring activated lever that you can move to accomplish what you want.
