  1. Ignition thing.

Dont know if you have inboard, breaker point or el. ignition.

Take off the distributor cap and let it dry, clean the inside terminals and the rotor end, see if you get spark now.

  2. Its the breaker plug.

  3. water in ignition. if inboard, then probably the distributer cap. leaving it to dry, take ages, take cap off and wipe out with paper towels. (make sure you mark the plug wires before your emove them, so they go back in the right place.)

if outboard, probably somehow got water into the carb, they fine with water spray, but direct water, can get through the flash guard into the carbs.

  4. unscrew the distributer cap. take some wd40 and spray it down. blow the oil out or wipe it out and reinstall the distributer cap. if the motor runs after this get a new cap and install it.

  5. start with plug wires and distributor.

  6. Not sure what type of motor, Inboard or outboard ?

Places to start to look:  plug wires, cracked coil, distributor cap, ignition wires.

Just a few ideas to look at.
