  1. Question #1; For a vessel to comply with FED. law the measurement of:  c. length overall needs to be documented.

Question #2; Automotive electrical parts should not be used on a vessel because: b. boats use 24Volts DC electric and automobiles and most trucks use 12 Volts DC.

  2. 1.)  C

    2.)  D

  3. 1 c

    2 d

  4. 1 A

2 D  Marine electrical systems may be 12, 24 or other voltages, but automotive parts are not explosion proof which the marine rated parts are.   Any competent vessel inspector who has never seen 12 volt on a vessel is very limited in experience.  12 volt is not as common as 24 but 36 and 48 are also in use.

  5. You should study your boater safety material more, the answers to the review questions should easily be found in your study material.   Much of this boater safety information is absolutely 100% critical in you correctly knowing.

If you need help on studying for the boater safety exam, ask a friend that has already passed the test to assist you, or if you are a minor then ask your parent(s) for help as well to study.

As for #2, I will mention because it deals with life and limb.

Automotive electrical parts are NEVER used on a boat because the possibility of a spark, which can cause a fire or explosion.  This can and does injure and kill people.  Boats have burnt to a crisp in a very short time from this, engine covers have blown off with the force of a bomb because of electrical spark.  Only use USCG certified marine equipment approved for your boat's electrical system.
