Bob Arum: This will be the most intense Manny that we have seen in a long time – Boxing News
At a press conference in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand to promote Pacquiao’s title defence against Timothy Bradley this Saturday, Bob Arum, Hall of Famer promoter, was present too. Trainer Freddie Roach of Pacquiao and Joel Diaz of Timothy Bradley were at the
event as well. While both the pugilists and their trainers spoke about their training camps, Bob Arum gave a neutral view of what might happen on June 9.
Arum spoke about Manny Pacquiao’s religious turn in life and how he thinks it has changed the Filipino boxer. He said, “I think it will make Manny suck it up and fight harder.”
Arum even revealed that he had spoke to Manny Pacquiao’s Pastor, Jerrick Soriano about Pacquiao and whether his dedication for religion will make him softer. To his amusement, Jerrick said that it has made Manny stronger and more determined than before.
Arum revealed, “Paster Jerrick told him that there will be 10,000 angels behind every punch. I really believe he needed this for this fight. This will be the most intense Manny that we’ve seen in a long time. If he fought this fight like the same old Manny,
like the Manny that fought Marquez, he’ll lose."
According to Arum, fans will see a better and more resilient than ever Manny Pacquiao on Saturday night. However, it should be noted here that Bob Arum has watched over both the fighters while they were training in their camps. Arum was equally impressed
with Bradley’s training as well.
Last week, Arum said in a press conference that Bradley looks super good and he can be Pacquiao’s biggest upset in the ring. At the press conference, Bradley said, “I’m not scared of Pacquiao. I’m not going to be tapping his gloves before each round like
it’s a brother-in-law fight. I’m not going to give him all that respect. He has to know he’s in a real fight."
Bradley said that he could do anything in the ring to defeat the Filipino, while Manny thinks that the result is in his God’s hands. For now, both fighters are excited and happy for their June 9 meeting.
