Bob and Joe each leave the same gas station traveling down the same road in the same direction. Bob drives 45mph, Joe drives 65mph. If Bob leaves at noon, when would Joe have to leave in order to catch up to Bob by 2:00pm?

  2. Bob leaves at noon and drives at 45 mph. After two hours, he's traveled 90 miles.

    Joe drives at 65 mph. That means he covers 90 miles in 1 hour, 23 minutes. So Joe can leave at 12:37 and catch up with Bob at 2:00.
