Bob French, an engineer with Worldwide Construction, travels to Accu-Steel Company in Pennsylvania for the purpose of buying steel cable made by Accu-Steel to help support the upper decks of a new football stadium the Worldwide is building in California. The representative of Accu-Steel reviews the plans for the stadium and sells its recommended cable to Worldwide. The stadium is built using the cable selected by Accu-Steel.
During an exciting football game, the upper deck collapses onto the lower deck due to the inability of the cable to support the weight load. Worldwide Construction now faces suit from thousands of plaintiffs injured or killed in the collapse.
