Bobbie Traksel joins Team Champion System for the season ahead
The UCI Professional Continental side, Team Champion System announced the inclusion of Bobbie Traksel in its 2013 squad.
The Dutch was delighted after securing the deal and hopes to take his performance to the next level with the Chinese team.
He believes that riding along with the Chinese riders and under a new management will definitely be a wonderful learning experience.
"I hope to take the next step in my career with new input from a different country,” Traksel noted.
“But I don't want to change everything. It's still my goal to win a big Belgian race, like one of the Flanders classics," he noted.
He rode for Team Rabobank through 2001-04 as his first professional team and accepted an offer from Team MrBookmaker.com-Sports Tech through 2005-06.
He also rode for Team Palmans-Cras (2007), Team P3Transfer-Batavus (2008), Team Vacansoleil (2009-10) and joined Team Landbouwkrediet in 2011.
The cyclist filled his bag with several victories and some of his career highlights include, stage victories at the Sachsen Tour, Ster Elektrotoer, Boucles de la Mayenne, Vuelta a Extremadura and finished first at the Gp Paul Borremans and the Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne 2010.
Team Champion System was founded back in 2010 with Tim Meeusen as its Sports Director and it has performed extremely well in the debut years.
It was originally based in American in 2010 and moved its head office to Hong Kong in 2011 and currently operates through China since 2012 season.
Team General Manager Ed Beamon was delighted to have Bobbie on the side and voiced that his experience can really help the Chinese-registered team in the coming season.
"Bobbie will be an important leader for us next year," Beamon said.
"His knowledge of the Belgian and Dutch races, along with his combatant approach and commitment to team dynamics, will be a great value in our continued development”.
“A good team needs strong leadership and I expect Bobbie to be on the front line as a rider and a mentor as we continue to build China's first Pro Continental team".
It will be interesting to see if 30-year-old finds the right form to help the team in the coming season.
