Bobbin winding message

Me again My husband got the machine back together, the janome memorycraft 8000, but the screen says bobbin winding, The bobbin winder is not in winding position but the machine is convinced that it is, Of course i cant sew with it like that. Do you know what causes this and how to fix it?Thank you, Gail Collins
