Bobby Cruickshanks crushes Lee Spick in the Round 2 – 2011 World Snooker Q School, Event 3
Bobby Cruickshanks has beaten Lee Spick by a frame score of 4-2 in the best-of-seven frames Round 2 match of the event three of this season’s World Snooker Q School on day four.
The last season of this year’s World Snooker Q School is being held at the
World Snooker Academy in
Sheffield.
Lee Spick, who enjoyed a walkover in the Round 1, has lost his hope for the main tour card in the Round 2. However it was an accomplishing performance from Cruickshanks, as he produced high standards of game to keep his hopes alive.
It was a spectacular game and the overall score-line between both players was 70-52; 6-127 (119); 75 (57)-12; 18-71; 71-57 (57); 70 (62)-1.
In the opening frames both players toiled their rhythm, as many chances were wasted with the balls spread all over the table before Cruickshanks appeared on top to draw to the first blood 1-0. However any early nerves were removed in the following
second frame, as Spick compiled a mind-boggling match-high century break of 119 in it to level the things at 1-1.
Spick was also the first one to be among the balls in the third but this time he lost control of his emotions breaking down on 12 and when the chance presented itself, Cruickshanks restored his one frame lead at 2-1 with a classy break of 57.
Though Spick managed in winning the scrappy fourth to level the score-line at 2-2, he lost the fifth and sixth again.
The fifth frame was a bit dramatic, as Spick had a frame-winning chance in it. Moreover he was on the verge of victory before he missed a tricky red after rolling in 57 points. Cruickshanks quickly stepped in and capitalised the opportunity to go in front
at 3-2 and then he knocked in a carving break of 62 in the sixth to finish the matters off in style.
