Bobby Zamora and Dickson Etuhu use strange training techniques
Fulham players Bobby Zamora and Dickson Etuhu are both undergoing unusual treatments in order to recover from injury faster.
Both players have been made to sit in oxygen tents for extended periods of time. Etuhu is currently fighting ligament damage while Zamora is recovering from a broken leg.
"I believe I will be back in three weeks.
I've been using the oxygen chamber at a hospital. It's like a small submarine, but when I come out I feel great. Bobby is using one at Fulham and he's in there every
day," said Etuhu.
This is good news for the club and it's important that the recovery of the players can be aided in any way possible. It should ensure that both players need minimum time
to recover full fitness when they start training with the first team.
Good news
This is good news for the players and the team because it shows that Fulham officials are thinking outside the box. It can be very frustrating to have important players
out injured and the club is clearly doing everything possible to aid their recovery.
The main purpose of an oxygen chamber is to work the cardiovascular system of someone harder, even when they are in a resting state. This means that there is a smaller
chance that the physical fitness of Zamora and Etuhu will drop dramatically.
It's also positive because it shows that the recovery of both players is going well. The club would not put the body of either player under any stress if there was even
the smallest sign that the worst of their injuries was not over.
"I used the same treatment about 15 months ago when I'd torn a quad
muscle. Bobby is a massive loss to us and we need him back as soon as possible," added Etuhu.
Betting advice
Fulham is lacking a lot of attacking players at the moment, hence the need to aid the recovery of important players. However, Mark Hughes has got the team playing with
confidence and the defence is very strong. Back Fulham to finish in the top eight to six places.
