Question:

Body Detox and Cleanses?

I know you can do a detox and then a cleanse, but can you do a colon cleanse, wait like a week and then do a kidney cleanse? I've been told it's better to do at most two/three cleanses a year, but I'm not sure if that is referring to one particular cleanse. Ugh, so complicated. Any Help Please! Thanks!

  1. Detoxing and cleansing are a unhealthy scam.

  2. Before trying anything drastic, check out Anne Louise Gittleman's books and website.  She'll help you determine how 'toxic' you really are and assess your actual need for detoxing.  She's a great resource -- if you heed her advice, you're not likely to do anything that will damage your body or cause released toxins to be reabsorbed.

  3. It's actually quite simple.

There is no need for "detoxing" or "cleanses".

These are silly AltMed concepts that have no basis in reality.

Save your time, your money and the unpleasantness of magical treatment of a non-problem.

  4. Look for a product called evercleanse. I have never used it personally, but I hear it being advertised quite a bit.

  5. detoxifying and cleansing your body is of course very good for you if done correctly, with proper education and preparation.  fasting and other detox programs are usually done quarterly, during a seasonal change.  and if you've never done a fast/cleanse or basic diet change before i would suggest you start slowly and simply.  My first fast was a half day!  Three months later I tried again for 24 hours.  I gradually worked my way up to 3 days - with vegetable broths, enemas, water, and herbal teas.  but the 3 days before and after were carefully planned out, too, to prepare me and then bring me out of the fast.  good luck, and study up!  i think you'll appreciate the benefits.  p.s.: i agree with everything annette said, too!

  6. the Australian Bush Flower Essences strengthens the organs that help elimination and in so doing the body will detoxify gently and naturally with out herbs, fasting and such that whips the body to eliminate the toxins.

I feel this is a much better way to go.

It is a energy medicine attracting healing energy to that system in the body that needs it (so if the kidneys are OK then they are not improved because there is no need etc with the other organs.  But the balance is improved overall and you body detoxed gently.

  7. Always cleanse from the bottom up.  And many teach that cleansing should be seasonal.  Start in the fall with a colon (lungs and skin during this time as well) cleanse, then in winter support the kidneys (and yeast cleanse if needed), The colon and kidneys need to be clean and ready to move the toxins from the spring cleanse.  Then the liver in the spring and in the summer, pancreas and spleen, lymph, gall bladder and heart.

Cleansing doesn't have to be complicated, just remember that you cleanse from the bottom up.  If you cleanse the liver with a backed up colon, where are the toxins going that are released from the liver?  Right back into your system!
