Question:

Bodyboarding fins - I hate them - need advice!!!?

I love to bodyboard, but I hate the fins. I've ruptured ligaments in my right ankle twice (not BB related) and now not only do I have some permanent swelling, I also always have to wear a brace, which makes wearing fins difficult. If I can actually get fins on, I get very bad pain around the area where I had my injury. I know that there are "Shin Fins" out there now. What do you think? Should I try the Shin Fins or should I forget the fins altogether? Anything on my feet isn't going to work anymore. : ( Thanks for your help.

  1. I have huge "craters" from bodyboarding fins also.  I've found "Kicks."  The strap goes under that bone, so it's a little bit more comfortable.  I haven't tried the shin fins yet, but personally, I would stick to traditional or nothing.

It also depends on where your bodyboarding.  If the break is way out in the boon docks, then you probably should throw on a pair of fins.  If it's just a close shore break, toss the fins, and just have some fun.  You could also try those webbed gloves.  They help with your stroke.  Just a thought.  GOOD LUCK!

  2. check ebay if not just dont wear fins... i dont!!
