Question:

Bodybuilding, past and present?

Nowadays the size of some of the guys has gotten a lot bigger than in the era of Arnold, Franco, Katz etc. Do you think this is a good thing or a bad thing that bodybuilders now are much larger but perhaps also far less natural looking than in the past?

Has bodybuilding lost it's way and become excessive or do you think guys these days have just raised the bar from the levels set in the past and that it was inevitable?

  1. I like some of the big guys. I like Dorian and Ronnie.

    I do like symmetry though.

I don't think I have ever really disagreed with a Mr.O. Except maybe the 1980 Arnold 'comeback.'

    I liked Zane's symmetry.

I think Lee Haney was really the closest BB to ideal to me.

He was huge, but perfectly proportioned.

I am not highly impressed by any of the newer guys though.

I do think Jay is the best out there currently, but I am not that impressed by Jay. He looks smooth compared to the past greats.

Ronnie in his prime was bigger AND he has more cuts and vascularity.

I will always be a fan of bodybuilding and bodybuilders,

and Lee Haney will always stand out as the greatest in my book.

What I will say though, is that they need to work harder to get rid of steroids. Essentially, a professional bodybuilder is supposed to sell products. That is their job.

But if Jay Cutler uses Muscletech, and Jay Cutler still has to do copious amounts of steroids, then why the **** would I waste my money on Muscletech? It obviously doesn't cut it. No pun intended.
