Well in any case I wnat to get more muscular and ripped, but what should I choose, pure strength and bulk, natural strength like rock climbing and swimming, I enjoy both, or the strength of a figther. I can't decide what I want to put my efforts into. I am nineteen so i still think there is a small margin that I could compete at a higher level. I jts don't knwo what I really want to do and what is best for me in the long run and how I can help people the most. Please help.

  1. Martial arts will give your body a well-rounded workout, and you also get OTHER benefits from martial arts. Body building only has the physical benefits, whereas martial arts has mental, physical, spiritual, ect..

  2. For overall fitness and to look and feel amazing, I would keep a healthy combination of all the activities you mentioned.  They each have there own qualities to help achieve what you are looking for.  Once you figure out what you enjoy the most put some extra effort into that.   Healthy balance is always key to feeling great!

  3. u have to put your energy into what u enjoy most.  For fighting u can join a kickboxing mma or boxing gym those will get you into good shape and build lean muscle and lower your body fat % but you'd still have to do some strength training to have some shape to ur muscles.  All the activitiees you listed are good in their own way but u gotta find what you enjoy the most b/c if u put all ur money and time into a membership at a boxing gym or rock climbing gym and find out you dont like it or dont have the passion to go regularly ur just gon waste dollars and time.  Find what you really enjoy doing something you want to do a lot and sign up put that money and time into it and ull see the results if u stay consistant with whatever u chose.  Otherwise if u picks something thas really tedious u might end up like most peopel that sign up for fitness gyms . .sign up pay monthly dues and . .never work out . .

  4. honestly, getting ripped is for showing off. I would rather have mussle mass hidden by a little body fat. slight muscle definition is what I work for. swimming and rock climbing are both fun and will build some strength, but probably not the way you want. you will need to include running, and probably moderate weight lifting, and areobics.

go find a YMCA or fitness club, a person who knows what they are doing already will be more help than the internet.

  5. Choose whichever you ENJOY the most.

If you like to do it, you will probably do it more often and will never consider it to be "a chore."

If you decide on body building, remember that if you really get into it you will need to continue doing it FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!  If you don't, those muscles will turn into something "less appealing."
