They are fighting for contracts, Personally I think Northrop Aircraft are of better quality. Can say that about Boeing whos aircraft are always faulty and in accidents.

What do you think?

  1. Well Northrop Grumman is working with EADS or basically Airbus and I don't know all the details but it was reported by the GAO that the Air Force unfairly gave the contract to them over Boeing.  This deal could potentially lead to several others which could be well worth 100 billion dollars.  I don't know but when the GAO says that the Northrop Grumman aircraft couldn't even refuel all of the aircraft it's suppose to, that's a big problem when you're building tankers for aerial refueling.  I just hope whoever wins this doesn't s***w us over, because we're the ones who pay for all of this.  They're just both lucky that Japan doesn't have a company to challenge them or they might have lost it to them.

  2. well, I can't think of anything dumber than an airplane builder making an enemy out of a missle building firm.

  3. i agree.. if its a boeing i'm not going...

  4. If Boeing/Mc Donnell Douglas Hates Northrop then why is the F-18E,F,G aft section  built by them?  Boeing/Mc Donnell Douglas also makes missiles, and the JDAM and other stuff.

Northrop is just trying to get more into the lead player than a second player.

Oh if you look at the dataplate on any of the Boeing/Mc Donnell Douglas fighter jets, it still says Mc Donnell Douglas.

  5. of course Boeing has more accidents they are the largest aircraft manufacturer and beside a Northrup Grumman B 2 crashed on June 5 the most expensive accident ever, and the number 1 cause of accidents are people not  the planes

  6. I work in a building that is right in between a building with Northrup on the front and a building that has Boeing on it.

I have never seen any fighting in the streets or eggs tossed in either direction.

If they hate each other it is not evident on this street.

  7. I gotta agree with Dodger fan.

Boeing is one of the largest builders of commercial aircraft.

What was the last commercial aircraft Northrop built?

So of course theirs are going to crash more, as there's more of them in the air at any one time.

  8. Boeing doesn't "hate" anybody; this is strictly business.  It has been found that some of the Air Force's procedures were less than ideal, and the bidding process may need to be done over.

This happens all the time in the government contracting business, but it is usually not as high-profile as this case.

In this case, the aircraft competing with Boeing designs are not Northrop airplanes, but Airbuses.  All three companies make fine airplanes; the issue is whether the American taxpayers are getting the best for their money.
