  1. Boeing is the one that still designs and builds airplanes.  Lockheed took over GD's plant in Texas after the design work was done.

    I perfer Boeing

  2. In military Lockheed-Martin. Commercial Boeing, but airbus pushes it hard. Boeing has not built a successful fighter plane since the 1930's. It's candidate for the JSF looked like a pregnant guppy with its mouth open. It flew badly as well. In bombers it used to dominate but the last was the B-52. The dreamliner is a good concept that is slipping schedule. Boeing seriously needs to work on its concepts and it has ethical issues as well.

  3. I liked that 1011 Lockheed they used to fly. Beat the c**p out of the DC10. If you are talking tankers then I go with Lockheed.

  4. Boeing is good for commercial air planes while Lockheed is better with military planes.

  5. Boeing by far. I think they have a better track record. it disturbs me that Boeing is delivering tanker to foreign country's and lookheed ie airbus is still working on certification. just look at past Boeing products like the 135 and b52 its still going strong and will continue for many years to come. i personal don'tthink airbus will be able to weather that kind of life

  6. money big

  7. Your question assumes that  one of those two that you mentioned are the 'best in the world', and that's not necessarily the case. Here are the top 10 aircraft manufacturers IN THIS COUNTRY and it therefore does not include those made in other countries. "Best in the World" is a value judgment and is a matter of opinion and really depends on your definition of "best".

       1. United Technologies Corporation

       2. General Dynamics Corp.

       3. L-3 Communications

       4. Honeywell International Inc.

       5. Parker Hannifin

       6. Computer Sciences Corp.

       7. Thales Group (U.S. branch)

       8. Lockheed Martin Corp.

       9. Northrop Grumman Corp.

      10. Boeing

  8. Just a few years ago, Lockheed won the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) contract.  Basically Lockheed's X-35 (now F-35) beat out Boeing's design ...

  9. They are both defense contractors who bribe government officials to get contracts.  LM is now in the business of weather briefing, and the funny thing is, they don't even have a usable system, they have their briefers used WSI, ASR and other internet based weather information..so how in the h**l did they get a contract from the FAA and cost 2400 briefers their jobs with the FAA?  Well after awarding the contract to LM, Jane Garvey resigns from the FAA and signs on as a lobbyist for LM.

The race doesn't go to the swiftest, smartest or best candidate, it goes to the highest bribe.  So when the posters above me point out that Boeing is better than LM, or LM is better than General Dynamics, based on who was rewarded a contract, don't believe it.  Contracts are based on who bribes who the with the best deal.  Believe me, it's all about who bribes, who has the best looking prostitutes and who gives some officials moron brother in law a position at their company.

Yeah they claim the LOW BID process, but it's not a coincidence that "cost overruns" are always reported after a contract is awarded.
