Bogus Breaking and Entering Charges?

Me and My Friend ages 17 and 18 were looking at cars at like 2 in morning well there is like a 1980s corvette with the doors unlocked so i sit in car talking about how nice it is and stuff well cop whips into parking lot and does his job of investigating and since there is a line of car dealorships we parked in back of one one car lot away well they think were robbers or somthing and the owner is pressing charges all cause i sat in the car passenger side. they say its breaking and entering and the owner is pressing charges so what should i expect too happen too me im 17 and turn 18 next month this happen today like an hour ago please help 18 year old guy is in jail right now they took me home

  1. If you don't own it, or know who owned the car, you should have stayed out of it. How would you feel if your apartment door was unlocked, and someone you didn't know thought he'd go in and try it out?


  2. Actually, the charges from what I can tell from your story aren't bogus at all.  At the very least, you should have been charged with criminal tresspass.

    Fortunentally for you, the state has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you're guilty.

    My advice, get a good lawyer.

  3. Of course you're not guilty.  Oh, can you leave your mom's car unlocked tonight?  I promise I'll just sit in the car at 2am. . . I won't take anything.

  4. im not an expert of the law but if you didn't wreck the car or did anything bad to it than nothing bad should happen to you, tell the truth and justice will be served.  Oh and make sure to get a lawyer it makes things alot easier
