Question:

Bohemian/Parisian inspired bedroom?

I want a new look for my bedroom in a french style, although I can't paint or buy new furniture and bed spreads. Currently the walls are lilac with dark purple skirting boards, white furniture and a dark purple bed spread.

When I say french, I DON"T want poodles and pink+black. I want more of a appartment style, like those around Montmartre, with a vintage feel and a bit of Moulin Rouge glamour, but I want to come together well.

My window has a little windowsill where i'm going to have little pots of herbs or something. Hope you can understand what i'm trying to get out.

Thanks,

Audrey xx

  1. some ideas...

  2. Think vintage-

vintage fabrics, scarves, or tassels (a huge scarf as a window covering or dresser scarf-tassels as drawer pulls or hanging from a door k**b), distressed ornate picture frames,

mirror, candle holders and accessories, vintage posters or garden inspired pictures, pretty beads over a curtain/valence or lamp, decorative baskets.

I really like the little pots of herbs idea-look for some aged

    weathered pots with character.

  3. Saw these on changing rooms ages ago, not my thing, but it may help with what you are doing...

as it is changing rooms it is cheap looking but the basic idea is lots of luxurious items like velvet, satin and silk cushions, curtains, table covers (for side tables or occassional tables), tassels, feathers (on a boa or the really big fan like ones you see, hard to find but gorgeous to fill a space in a room), privacy screens, a chaise lounge or just an ornate chair would do and with the purple you already have, you should be set.  Good Luck with it!
