Boher Legend steals the show in Bedford Road Dash at Henlow
Charlie Lister's Boher Legend made an astonishing comeback, winning the Bedford Road Dash comprehensively at Henlow on Thursday, February 23, 2012.
After stepping out from the sixth trap, the black dog quickly established his dominance. He remained ahead right through the race, clocking the distance in just 16.69 seconds.
Balintore Brave’s son out of Knock Princess was 6/4 favourite and he lived up to his high reputation. Beating Loughbeag Roopy by almost a couple of lengths, the hound sealed the top position, completing his hat-trick of triumphs.
Earlier in the day, Story Time dominated the show in the Bedford Road Puppy. The multi coloured b***h was holding the odds of 12 to 1, relatively lower than a few of her rivals.
Yet, she succeeded in displaying a wonderful action, making it to the post in just 27.49 seconds. B. Turner’s b***h defeated the favourite Be Real by 1 ½ lengths.
Bedford Road Midi saw Westmead Ourora clinching the top slot by 1 ¼ lengths. The brindle b***h heaped a lot of misery on Aero Majestic who was holding the highest odds of 5 to 4. N. Savva’s trainee covered 550 metres in 33.47 seconds.
Another exiting event on Thursday night was Bedford Road Stayers that was won by Swift Julie. The brindle and white b***h surprised the 11/8 favourite Bubbly Swallow.
Both b*****s ran neck to neck but the victory was eventually sealed by K. Davis’ trainee. The winning b***h covered 692 metres in just 42.73 seconds, beating the favourite by ½ of a length.
Bedford Road Standard – Dup was the third last event on the evening. Many other competitions produced shocking result but the 460 metre long race was dominated by the favourite Fire Food Chili.
With the highest odds of 6 to 4, the multi coloured dog started off the proceedings from the red box. Soon after the beginning, the dog was able to hold a decent lead that he maintained till the finishing line.
Crossing the wire in 27.67 seconds, he nabbed an easy victory by 1 ¾ lengths. The second position was seized by Boher Legend’s group mate, Delwood Roko.
