Boher Legend to aim the third victory through the Owlerton Standard Trophy at Sheffield
Sheffield will stage the Owlerton Standard Trophy over 500 metres flat on Tuesday, 20th March. Participating tonight are Welton Arthur, Coin Case, Farloe Lenson, Boher Legend, Farloe Elder and Fintans Sid.
Boher Legend, Balintore Brave’s four-year-old black son out of b***h Knock Princess, does not only have the right credentials for getting tonight’s race rather his regular work outs and practice indicate the preparation and home work that he has been doing
for the success.
He came out of the previous season with a pair of victories struck through the last two starts.
Instead of racing him right away when he stepped into the new season, the connections thought better of it and drilled him three times before he could race his seasonal debut.
On all the three instances, Boher Legend was tested over different distances. On 4th February, he clocked the 305 metres distance in 18.29 seconds at Nottingham. Next he rushed through 273 metres at Wimbledon on 15th February and was
done in 16.31 seconds. At Nottingham, Boher Legend took 18.00 seconds in order to conclude the 305 metres track.
His first race of the season culminated into a victory when he timed the 277 metres track in 16.69 seconds in the Bedford Road Dash on 23rd February at Henlow. The 6/4 favourite of the race led the track by 1 ¾ lengths. Finishing the race closest
to the winner was Loughbeag Roopy who was soon followed by Soviet Britney.
Even though sent as a favourite and ending the race first, Boher Legend went drilling over 500 metres at Sheffield this time as his next races were to be held at the same venue. He was on the other end of the wire in 29.85 seconds.
This time the work out did not prove to be as effective as it was previously because on 6th March, Boher Legend ended second in the Owlerton Bookmakers 280 at Sheffield over 280 metres. He timed the distance in 16.53 seconds behind the winner,
Boyneside Banty.
Boher Legend’s second and till yet last victory was in the Owlerton Bookmakers Standard – Duplicated on 13th March at Sheffield over 500 metres. The 4/5 favourite winner reached the other end of the wire in 29.59 seconds and has the potential
of doing the same tonight.
