Boiling temp of water in vacuum?

What is the boiling point of water in a vacuum of 29 inches of mercury? Also, could you direct me to a web site with boiling temp. at various vacuum's.

  1. As pressure decreases the boiling point of water decreases, at standard atmospheric pressures the boiling point of water is 100C. But, as the pressure decreases the boiling point also decreases.

    an example is when climbers who go up to a very high mountain the boiling point of water decreases.


  2. 100 degrees Celsius, same as in any other atmosphere. It doesn't change, no matter where it is or what it's mixed with.

  3. Boiling point of water at 29"Hg = 98.9°C.

    At 7"Hg  = 85°C

    At 4.5"Hg  = 65°C

    At 2"Hg = 55°C.


  4. Well first off let me say that i'm a doctor... of sorts. and let me say that if you were to put boiling water inside of your vacuum cleaner it would probably break.
