Bojan Krkic feels confident about the next season
The twenty year old Barcelona striker, Bojan Krkic had a pretty good season last year at La Liga. The Spanish striker did not actually manage to get a spot in the first team, but he worked perfectly as a power sub for his side and managed to add pace to the game in the front line, along with Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and his fellow youngster Pedro.
Bojan managed to score a handful of goals in a few appearances that he had. One of the most amazing goals came off against Racing, where he managed to pull off a nutmeg, dodged the last defender and ran past all the two centre backs, and scored a goal.
Many fans around the world have seen the talent of Bojan and the way he can actually finish a good ball. During the previous season Bojan had Xavi, Iniesta and the magician Lionel Messi, alongside him to help score goals. On the other hand he even had to compete with Pedro and Ibrahimovic.
In the coming season, Bojan has to fight his way through to the top of the squad because Pedro has been playing as a “first team player” for the Spanish side and Ibrahimovic will also want to redeem himself after a “disappointing” first season; and of course, because of the new signing David Villa who is the top goal scorer of the FIFA World Cup 2010. Moreover, Villa is a very consistent striker who has scored at least 20 goals in almost every season that he has played in the past 5 years.
When Bojan was asked about the new season, all the youngster had to say was that he felt really strong and confident about it. After two days of training, the 20 year old Barcelona striker said that even though there is a fierce competition upfront, he will still get the chance to play for his team, Barcelona.
He reminded all the reporters that he is still the youngest player in the squad and he has played 3 seasons to gain all the experience that is needed. He added on to the conversation by saying that in the past 3 seasons he has never failed to deliver and will still manage to do so, and will do whatever is required of him.
He even thanked the person who helped him come on top, Pep Guardiola, who is the manager and coach of the Barcelona side and has recently committed his future to the club by saying that “there is no place like Barca”.
He said that whatever Pep Guardiola mentioned in the press conference gave him more strength and he is even more confident because he has faith in me, even though there are plenty of amazing strikers in the squad.
Bojan then added on by saying that now he has matured through time and he knows what the fans and the team requires from him. He told the press that he will try to score as many goals as he can and just because the team has shown so much confidence in him, he is confident about the fact that he will be of good use to them.
He mentioned that during this pre-season he is going to prove his worth and will not act like the “youngest player in the squad.” He even told the press that after this pre-season, the fans are going to see what I am capable of.
Bojan then brought to notice, the fact that it is not a solo effort that he is at this place. He informed the press about the people who have helped him mature. When asked whether who he was referring to, he said:
“First of all, my parents, my family in general and my friends. They’ve all had a role to play, so that I can get better every day. I want to be here for many years. I’m a Barca fan and I want to triumph here and nowhere else”.
He then told about his ambition and said that he wanted to be a part of the International team of Spain in the next FIFA World Cup, at least. When he was asked about the two strikers that are now a “competition” for him in Barcelona, he said:
“What can you say about Villa? He’s a great goal scorer. As to Ibra, I don’t know what’s going to happen, but for me he is a great teammate, a great footballer and I really like him on and off the pitch.”
