Bojan Krkic says Barcelona will soon rediscover scoring touch
Barcelona forward Bojan Krkic (‘Bojan’) is convinced that the La Liga champions will soon stop the rut and find their prowess in front of goal.
The youngster has played a prominent role for the Catalan giants so far this season, having featured in eight matches, but has yet to score. That has contributed to Barca suffering several poor results by their standards, including a league defeat and draw
against Hercules and Mallorca respectively, while they also saw a match against Russian champions Rubin Kazan end in a 1-1 stalemate.
However, Spain Under-21 international Bojan said that the goals will soon flow for Barca, who are creating numerous chances and can boast the talents of 2010 FIFA World Cup winners David Villa and Pedro Rodriguez as well as reigning FIFA World Player of
the Year Lionel Messi in attack.
'Confident in team and players'
In an interview with Spanish outlet El Mundo Deportivo, the 20-year-old said that: “It’s normal to criticise the forwards, but here the goals are always set. Now we are going through a time where we are struggling to score, and it is costing us more. I am
personally calm, confident in the team and players. Trust me, the goals will come.”
Bojan added that some of the players were struggling to disregard comments in the press regarding their performances, but added that it was down to the squad members to disregard such reports.
He said that: “You cannot just turn off comments about the team, the world of football is how it is, and more so at this level. I know people criticise me because I am not scoring, this is normal. But my overall game, they cannot criticise. I think I’m playing
well and helping the team. I need to score goals, I accept that and I understand. I grew up scoring many goals, even in the first team, and I am sure I will score many more.”
