Bold Chief and Black Thunder to lock horns in Pertemps Group Handicap Hurdle

Bold Chief will be looking to cause a few problems for Black Thunder in the Pertemps Group Handicap Hurdle (Series Qualifier) at Kempton in England on Monday, November 5, 2012. Both are extremely good runners and will definitely spice up the competition
in the class-2 encounter, which is scheduled to start at 14:40 GMT.
The latter of the above two runners has been rated as the outright favourite to succeed in the 2 mile 5 furlong event, which has a cash prize of £10,010 for the winner. He has got an extremely good stamina and knows how to handle pressure at this level.
Furthermore, he has done well in races over hurdles, which will help him attract the attention of the punters. There has been some rain at Kempton, which has left the track as good to soft. However, that will not be a big concern for the favourite stallion,
as he has competed under such conditions in the past as well.
Black Thunder has been given a general starting price of 9 to 4, which shows that the bookmakers have got immense confidence in his abilities. He is not an easy opponent and will make life difficult for the rest.
Overall, the young runner has raced in three races over hurdles, winning a couple of them whereas finished as a runner up once. He is not overly dependent on the track conditions, which is a positive sign for his team.
In 2012, the Paul Nicholls’ trainee has participated in just one race and the result was a terrific one for him. He managed to take the top spot by two and a half lengths, as no one was able to come anywhere closer to him. A similar effort will see him on
top of the table once again under veteran jockey, Ruby Walsh.
However, Bold Chief is the one who can stop him from winning this race. He has been rated quite highly by the bookies, but things will not be easy for him and the bettors will be a touch reluctant while gambling on him.
The Harry Fry’s trainee has got a very good record over hurdles, winning one of them whereas finished as a runner up twice. He will be looking for yet another strong run today under jockey, Noel Fehily.
